The wound healing protocol combines BPC-157 and TB-500, two peptides with complementary and synergistic mechanisms for tissue repair. BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective gastric juice protein, with demonstrated cytoprotective, angiogenic, and tendon-healing properties across multiple tissue types. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of Thymosin Beta-4, a protein involved in actin polymerisation, cell migration, and anti-inflammatory signalling — all critical processes in wound resolution. Together these peptides address wound healing from multiple mechanistic angles, making this protocol relevant across dermal, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, and neural injury models.
BPC-157 accelerates wound healing by upregulating growth hormone receptor expression, stimulating VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), and activating FAK (focal adhesion kinase) — a key mediator of fibroblast migration. It also promotes early collagen deposition and cross-linking, foundational to the remodelling phase of healing. TB-500 binds G-actin, promoting cell migration into wound sites. It upregulates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) for extracellular matrix remodelling, reduces inflammatory cytokines (particularly IL-1β and TNF-α), and promotes angiogenesis via VEGF and HIF-1α pathways. Together they create overlapping pro-healing signals that address haemostasis, inflammation resolution, proliferation, and tissue remodelling.
This protocol is studied across multiple wound types: cutaneous (skin) wounds, surgical incisions, GI mucosal injuries, tendon/ligament damage, and corneal injuries. The mechanisms are broad rather than tissue-specific.
BPC-157 primarily drives fibroblast migration, collagen synthesis, and angiogenesis. TB-500 primarily promotes actin-driven cell migration and resolves inflammatory signalling. Their combined action covers more phases of the wound healing cascade.
BPC-157 is typically administered once or twice daily at research doses. TB-500 is typically dosed twice weekly. Protocols typically run 4–8 weeks depending on the wound type and healing endpoint.
Both have preclinical and emerging clinical data. TB-500/Thymosin Beta-4 has reached phase II clinical trials for wound healing. BPC-157 has extensive preclinical data and some human case evidence, though large RCTs are lacking.
